A Clinical pharmacy with Indian Health Service is very unique in that the pharmacist is much more than just a retail pharmacist dispensing. We are charged with being gate keepers and clinicians giving pharmaceutical care for all medications being routed throughout the Alamo Health Center pharmacy. We are also charged with verifying data and encouraging habits of our providers with the use of our pharmacy drug formulary.
The pharmacy is open during the same hours as the health clinic. Pharmacy services include giving our prescription medications, drug information services, and patient education activities.
The Alamo Health Center provides a variety of Dental services. Alamo children are screened for cavities and the need for dental sealant. Several Dental Health promotion/disease prevention activities are carried out throughout the year. There are annual diabetic dental exams that are completed as an important part of the continuum of care.
Besides the filling of teeth for cavities, the staff can remove teeth as needed and if additional services are necessary, a referral may be done.
The Alamo Health Center Laboratory is available for use during business hours as requested by the professional staff. The Laboratory is CLIA Compliant
An emergency is a medical condition for which immediate attention is necessary to prevent death or serious impairment of the health of an individual. Severe chest pain, a broken leg, or fainting are just some examples of emergencies.
For all emergencies, call (575) 854-2525 or Socorro General Hospital at (575) 835-8370. If EMS is on a run and staff does not answer the phone, hang up and call Socorro General Hospital.
